He is responsible for screening, evaluating, and executing potential Cathay Innovation investments, as well as post-investment monitoring.

Prior to joining Cathay Innovation, Eli was an MBA candidate at Columbia Business School. During his tenure at Columbia he held positions at Lux Capital and Draper Associates, where he covered digital healthcare and frontier technology sectors. He served as the Managing Director of the Columbia Venture Fellows, a selective program where students conduct investment diligence on Columbia led startups and partner with prominent VC firms. Elistarted his career as an operator at an early-stage genomics startup, Cipherome, where he did a little of everything. 

Eli is a Bay Area native, with a B.S. in Biology from Wheaton College and an MBA from Columbia Business School.
