Matthieu is Head of C.Lab, Cathay Innovation's strategic advisory arm dedicated to the open transformation of large corporations.

With an international career spanning over 16 years, Matthieu has been a dynamic force in the realms of innovation and sustainability, bridging the gap between the USA and Europe at BNP Paribas. He has advised global leaders in mobility, energy, financial services, retail, and food & ag sectors, guiding them on their innovation strategies and climate journeys.

Most recently, Matthieu served as the Head of BNP Paribas’ innovation lab in San Francisco and was the US Venture Partner for the Solar Impulse Venture Fund, a climate tech fund by BNP Paribas. As the spokesperson for BNP Paribas on Innovation & Sustainability in the USA, his leadership has been recognized, with the Financial Times Sifted naming him one of the top 36 European climate tech leaders to follow in 2022. Matthieu’s influence extends beyond the boardroom. For a few years, he was the Silicon Valley correspondent for BFM Business Tech&Co TV show (French CNBC), sharing monthly updates on technology hot news and trends. With over 200 media interviews and public speaking engagements under his belt, he has been featured on prominent platforms such as CNBC, Nasdaq TV, Bloomberg, and at conferences like Techonomy Climate, Money 20/20, and Insurtech Connect. His expertise is highly sought after by academic institutions worldwide. He has shared his insights with executives and students at prestigious institutions like UC Berkeley, Harvard Kennedy School, Technical University of Denmark (DTU), HEC, ESCP Business School, and Audencia Business School, among others. Deeply involved in the startup community, Matthieu serves as a community host in the Bay Area for My Climate Journey (MCJ), a mentor for the Sustainable Ocean Alliance (SOA) startup accelerator in San Francisco, and an advisor to the GreenTech Alliance, a greentech startup association based in Europe. Matthieu’s academic background includes a master’s degree from Audencia Business School, with a minor in Consulting and International Strategic Management.

He has also completed the executive program from the Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership (CISL) on sustainability in business. His journey is a testament to his commitment to driving positive change through innovation and sustainability.
